Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) annually awards the nation’s best technopreneurs recognized during its National Sheikh Bahai Technopreneurship Festival (SHTF) with an opportunity to expand their horizon and observe what the world has to offer in the field of entrepreneurship. For the past 3 years ISTT has awarded the winners of the SHTF whom had presented the best original technopreneurial Ideas with a trip to Helsinki, Finland to participate in their annual Slush Event.
Slush is a student-driven, non-profit movement originally founded to change attitudes toward entrepreneurship. Slush has grown from a 300 person assembly to a world-renowned event, now spreading globally. The philosophy behind Slush has remained the same: to help the next generation of great, world-conquering companies forward. The very core of Slush is to facilitate founder and investor meetings and to build a world-wide startup community.
This year ISTT sent representatives from the companies of Pazhuhesh Ahura (Tehran), Tafavot Trade and Information Technology Development (Isfahan), Ideparvaran Mashregh Ghazal (Mashhad), Amid Rayane Sharif (Tehran), Bahman Newtech (Tehran) and Barekat (Tehran) with two of its own employees to this two day event held from the 30th of December to the 1st of November, 2016. The event had gathered together 17,000 participants from 1700 start-ups alongside 800 investors and 630 media reporters.
The representatives of ISTT who were present during this year’s event met with many international companies who were interested in coming to Iran and also participating in ISTTs Sheikh Bahai Technopreneurship Festival (SHTF).
